Hemp Is Gluten Free!!

Hemp is available in a wide variety of foods such as salad dressings, sauces etc.

The seeds are an adequate source of iron and calcium. Whole and toasted they are a good source of zinc, magnesium, copper and manganese.

Hemp is a sensible addition to your gluten free diet which is why I sprinkle hemp seeds on my yogurt.

  1. I recommend the hulled seeds – it is what I have but any form of Hemp is good.
Flax is great too (I have a posting in the works for Flax)
If you have a bulk barn handy, they carry alot of gluten free products and the managers are usually quite knowledgable.

  2. Welcome to the world of gluten free living! It really isn’t so bad when you start finding recipes and product lines like glutino.
For cereal, try Perky’s – I prefer the Nutty Flax and I mix it with serendipity trail mix from bulk barn.

Keep in mind that you should always consult your doctor on recommendations regarding medications etc.
    Read your labels:)

  3. I don’t have hempseed oil or seeds….my hemp is a granola-like substance that I used to stir in with instant oatmeal and that was before my diagnosis of celiac disease.

I use flaxseeds which are part of some of the gluten-free bars I eat and flaxseeds as seeds.

What form of hemp would you recommend I use with cold cereal also gluten-free.
