These Brownies are Gluten Free??


6 tbs butter

2 squares unsweetened chocolate

¾ cup sugar (Splenda works too)

1 egg

½ cup white rice flour

3 tbs potato starch

1 tbs tapioca flour

½ tsp baking powder

¼ tsp salt

¼ cup milk chocolate chips


Preheat oven to 350ºF

Melt the butter and chocolate squares in a heavy pan on low heat.

Remove from heat and stir in the egg.

In a bowl, mix together the dry ingredients then add them to the chocolate mixture and mix well.

Add the chocolate chips.

Pour into a prepared 8”x8” pan and bake for 20 minutes.

Place pan into a try with ice water to cool.

Ice with chocolate frosting if you like (but you really don’t need to)

Variation:  Add ½ cup chopped walnuts with the chocolate chips.
