Improved Gluten Free Soda Crackers


2 cups GF all-purpose flour

1 tsp. salt

¼ cup butter

¾ tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp baking powder

½ cup milk

1 egg



In a large bowl, mix flour, salt and baking soda well.

Cut in the butter.

Add milk and egg and mix to make a stiff dough.

Knead for 5 minutes.

Roll very thin and cut into squares with a pizza wheel.

Place on lightly greased baking sheets.

Prick with a fork, and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.

Bake at 400ºF for 10 min.

  1. I have added 1/4 tsp of baking powder – it makes the texture just a little better.
    The flour mixture I use is 1 cup rice flour, 1 cup tapioca flour, 1 cup cornstarch and 3tsp potato flour (not potato starch)
    I mix up a triple or quadruple batch each time and save it in an air-tight container.

  2. I too am excited to try this but I will have to buy some sea salt, I just checked and am out. What kind of all purpose flour do you use
